The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project "Harvesting Hope: Tackling Food Waste" (Project No: 2024-1-IS01-KA152-YOU-000227481), coordinated by Green Behavior Youth Organization, officially began in Selfoss, Iceland, bringing together participants from Iceland, Portugal, Croatia, Czechia, and Türkiye to explore sustainable solutions for reducing food waste.💪
The first day focused on creating a welcoming and collaborative learning environment. Participants took part in ice-breaking and team-building activities through the "Let's Meet First!" session, allowing young people from different cultural backgrounds to get to know one another and establish strong connections. This was followed by an Orientation Event, where the project's objectives, activity schedule, working methods, and responsibilities were introduced.
Participants also attended an Erasmus+ Workshop, gaining a deeper understanding of the programme's priorities, particularly environmental sustainability and youth participation. During the Youthpass Workshop, they learned about the Youthpass Certificate, its key competences, and how it supports personal and professional development.
The opening day successfully laid the foundation for an inspiring week dedicated to combating food waste, promoting sustainable lifestyles, and strengthening intercultural cooperation.🤝
