About Us

As the Green Behavior Youth Association, we set out with a deep love for nature and a strong commitment to ecological values at our core. Our aim is to protect and preserve the environment and natural assets, to enhance their beauty, and to leave a livable world for future generations. One of our primary goals is to ensure the sustainable development of natural resources and to promote them through ecotourism, while raising environmental awareness and collaborating with public institutions and non-governmental organizations along the way.

Officially established in 2022, our association was originally a voluntary community. As our membership and volunteer participation increased over time, the need arose to formalize our community into an official organization. Today, anyone who defends the rights of nature—regardless of language, religion, race, or political opinion—can become a member or volunteer of our association

.

To us, nature is not merely a resource, but a living being that thinks, writes, and draws. Like clouds drifting, winds blowing, and rivers flowing, nature reminds us of the balance of life. With this perspective, we strive to contribute to the sustainable future of our planet.

Our Projects

At Green Behavior Youth Association, we design and implement our own initiatives. With a mission to protect nature, raise environmental awareness, promote sustainable living, and empower young people to take active roles in ecological advocacy, our original projects aim to create meaningful impact at both local and international levels.

Harvesting Hope: Tackling Food Waste

“Harvesting Hope: Tackling Food Waste” is a project aimed at addressing the issue of food waste in Selfoss. Our project involved engaging young people and carried out activities focused on raising awareness, education, and developing solutions to reduce food waste.

Implemented under project number 2024-1-IS01-KA152-YOU-000227481, this project aimed to increase public awareness in line with sustainability goals. The project was successfully carried out between October 5th and October 11th, 2024, creating a significant impact in Selfoss.

The project has contributed to raising positive awareness both within the local community and among participants, carrying the potential to inspire similar initiatives in the future.

Roots and the Future: Environmental Sustainability through Archaeobotany

Our new youth exchange project has been awarded Erasmus+ funding in the first application round of 2025. This project marks a new milestone in our efforts to engage young people in environmental sustainability and intercultural dialogue through creative, science-based learning.

"Roots and Future" focuses on archaeobotany to explore how early societies interacted with nature, developed ecosystems and adapted to environmental changes. Through this lens, young participants will reflect on how the past can guide present and future actions for sustainability.

Our Partner Projects
