Discovering the Real Journey of Waste

The second day of "The Endless Journey of Plastic" focused on understanding what happens to waste after it leaves our homes. Coordinated by For Renewal Environmental Association, the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange (Project No: 2022-3-HU01-KA152-YOU-000095197) continued with practical learning activities that helped participants better understand recycling systems and environmental protection. 🌍

One of the highlights of the day was the visit to a Municipal Solid Waste Disposal and Recycling Facility, where participants observed the recycling process first-hand. They learned how different waste materials are collected, sorted, and processed before being transformed into reusable resources. The field visit enabled participants to connect theoretical knowledge with real-life practices while recognizing the importance of effective waste management for protecting the environment.

In the afternoon, participants took part in the Zero Waste Matching Game, an interactive activity designed to improve their knowledge of waste separation. Working in international teams, they matched different materials with the correct recycling categories, strengthening their understanding of paper, plastic, metal, glass, and organic waste. Through non-formal learning methods and friendly competition, recycling became both educational and enjoyable. 🎯

The day ended with a lively Cultural Night, where participants introduced elements of their national traditions, dances, and customs. This intercultural exchange strengthened friendships, promoted mutual respect, and highlighted one of the core values of Erasmus+: learning from diversity while working together toward common environmental goals.
