From Ideas to Action: Designing Solutions for Climate Resilience

The Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project “Climate Guardians: Youth Workers for a Cleaner Tomorrow” (Project No. 2024-1-LT02-KA153-YOU-000205187) was held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 6 to 12 October 2024. Hosted by Delta Environmental Association VšĮ with the participation of the Green Behavior Youth Organization, the mobility brought together youth workers from Lithuania, Poland, Iceland, Türkiye, and Hungary to strengthen their capacities for climate action and environmental education.

The Creativity Lab encouraged participants to transform their understanding of climate change into innovative proposals for both individual and institutional action. Through brainstorming, discussion, and teamwork, the groups designed practical measures and awareness-raising initiatives, cultivating creative thinking, cooperation, and a sense of shared responsibility for the planet.

The Climate Solutions Policy Session provided a dynamic space for participants to explore collective responses to the climate crisis. Inspired by international agreements and parliamentary debate, they developed policy recommendations that highlighted the importance of cooperation among countries and institutions. This process enhanced their abilities in advocacy, negotiation, and constructive dialogue while reinforcing the value of evidence-based decision-making.

Artistic expression became a powerful educational tool during the Tiny Tactics for Climate Action activity. By creating miniatures and visual works illustrating sustainable practices such as recycling, energy saving, and green energy use, participants translated abstract concepts into accessible messages. The experience fostered initiative, creativity, and the confidence to communicate climate solutions within their own communities.

Reflective evaluation sessions enabled participants to assess their learning outcomes and identify areas for further growth through discussion and quantitative self-assessment. The intercultural spirit of the mobility was further enriched by the joint Turkish–Hungarian Cultural Night, where traditions, music, and customs were shared, strengthening mutual understanding and the collaborative commitment to a sustainable future.
